Our little angel, Lily Ann Neerings, passed away unexpectedly on April 25th, 2026. She was born December 12th, 2025, to Carter Neerings and Addie Beeson Neerings. With a highly anticipated birth that was preceded by her mother having a 5 week stay in the hospital, she weighed 3 pounds 6 ounces and was a little over 8 weeks early.
Due to a heart condition, Lily spent the first two and a half months of her life in the NICU at Primary Children’s Hospital. These were well spent months as she spent time sleeping, getting lots of cuddles, and recovering from a stomach surgery.
After 74 days she left the NICU at 6 pounds 9 ounces and came home to Provo, Utah to stay with her mom and dad until she was big enough for heart surgery. Lily spent 4 wonderful days at home in her parents’ care. They took her on her first walk, gave her a first bath, danced, and gave her even more cuddles.
After those 4 days she had to return to the hospital and receive some extra care while she waited for surgery. Over the next two months Lily’s personality continued to show, she grew a love for listening to the guitar, loved being read to, and found her voice as she would babble to her parents. Lily was a beautiful and feisty soul and was given so much love during this time.
On Friday April 24th, 2026, Lily had a procedure done to help sustain her until she could receive her full heart surgery. After a successful procedure, she suffered from an unexpected complication that night which led to her passing the next morning.
All of Lily’s family and caretakers who met her all were influenced by her light. She brought so much joy to her parents and will always be their perfect little angel. Lily’s parents would like to thank all the caretakers at Primary Children’s Hospital for her exceptional care. They would also like to thank all their friends and family who gave so much love and support to Lily. Private services are being held May 2nd, 2026.
