Linda Lunt Whittington, 88, passed away on February 12, 2026, in Lehi, UT. She was born on June 21, 1937, in Nephi, UT, to Homer Kendall Lunt and Anna Marie Cowan Lunt. She married Richard Bruce Whittington on March 24, 1956, in Nephi, UT.
Linda learned to play the piano at a young age and continued playing throughout her life. She lived most of her life in Nephi, UT, but her father’s work took them to San Francisco, CA for a few years. Linda started her career at First Security Bank, now Wells Fargo, just out of high school and remained in their employ until she retired. She and Richard enjoyed camping and traveling. Regular family camping trips took place in Salt Creek Canyon. Most family vacations were taken in a truck and camper or with a trailer being towed behind. After both she and Richard retired they traveled the United States and Canada in their motorhome. They spent summer in Alaska and several winters in Yuma, AZ. After Richard’s passing, she traveled with her children and grandchildren, going on cruises and road trips. She was always eager to look through her Atlas to make travel recommendations. Linda completed many beautiful cross stitch pieces which she willingly shared with family. Linda loved Christmas, she took great pleasure in the gift of giving. Her family enjoyed the benefits of her candy making and could depend on her for their favorite appetizers on Christmas day.
In 2015 Linda was diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease. As the disease progressed, she moved into Covington Senior Living in Lehi, UT. Linda was able to hire a private companion to assist her with her needs during the day. Karla Castaneda has been an extraordinary companion of which the family has the highest regards. Linda also expressed deep appreciation for her granddaughters Megan, Courtnee, Brittney and Blake for all they have done for her over the years.
Linda is survived by her children Cheryl Lynn, Bruce Kent (Marta), and Mark Alan (Debbie), 14 grandchildren, and 10 great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband and a grandson in law.
The family would like to express deep appreciation for Valeo Hospice Care, specifically Britanie and the real Roy, as well as the music therapist, massage therapist and pastor.
