Loraine Lenhart

Loraine Lenhart, age 88, died peacefully on March 7th, 2023 in Nephi, Utah surrounded by her family. She was born October 10th, 1934 in Kaysville, Utah, the daughter of Vernell Swanger and Rosetta Bloxham Swanger.

She grew up in Kaysville, Utah where she had a great love for music; playing the piano and singing. She was quite the entertainer and loved to get everyone involved in whatever she was doing.

She graduated from Davis High School in Kaysville and attended college at Utah State University.

In May of 1953 Loraine married Robert L. Lenhart. They met at the University and quickly fell head over heels for each other and had 4 children.

Robert passed away at age 37 which left her single with 4 small children to raise mostly on her own. She sacrificed and completely dedicated all she had to raise her children and was fiercely loyal to her family.

She taught her children to love Jesus Christ and His gospel through her example, teachings, and the love of music. Music was a big part of her life and her children’s. She would have all her children gather around the piano and sing for hours late into the night. She could pick up almost any instrument and play it like she had been trained. If you could hum her a tune, even if she had never heard it, she could play it on the piano.

She is a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and enjoyed her callings as Stake Young Women’s President, many different ward callings, and her favorite calling of chorister in the ward and stake.

Loraine is survived by 3 children, Keats (Michael) Jimenez, Lance (Kerilynn) Lenhart, Mace (Verena) Lenhart, 14 grandchildren, and 5 great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband Robert L. Lenhart and her oldest son Corey Lenhart. Also, her parents, Vernell Swanger and Rosetta Bloxham and her brother Coy Swanger.

Although she suffered many trials of loss and heartbreak Loraine was the life of every party or gathering. She always put her faith and trust in God and was completely confident of His love for her. She would tell everyone she was truly blessed. She was loyal to family and friends and always wanted everyone to feel like they were accepted and part of the fun. She will be long remembered for the way she included and loved all those around her. Her laugh was infectious and she will be missed.

Viewing will be held between 10:00 to 11:00 AM on Wednesday, March 15th, 2023 at the Kaysville 15th Ward building, 555 North 100 East, Kaysville, Utah, with funeral services following at 11:00 AM. Interment will be at the Kaysville City Cemetery.
