Lynn B. Angell

Lynn B. Angell (83) was born on July 28, 1942 to Truman Alma Angell and Sadie Fern Angell Johnston in Salt Lake City, Utah. Lynn was the youngest of 4 boys.

Lynn grew up in South Salt Lake City, Utah and graduated from Granite High School in 1960. Following high school, Lynn completed a Resident Industrial Electronics Technician course at the Salt Lake School of Electronics. He attended the University of Utah from 1964-1966 until he was drafted into the Air Force. He went on to earn a Bachelors degree in General Studies from the University of Nebraska Omaha in 1972, and a Master degree in Science from the University of Northern Colorado in 1979.

Lynn met Peggy in 1964 when she was 15 years old. Their friendship grew over the next couple years. They were engaged January 11, 1966 and married in the Logan, Utah temple on October 6, 1966. Peggy stayed home with her parents to finish high school while Lynn returned to complete his training in the United States Air Force. Their love story grew and continued, an example to all of a devoted, loving husband and wife for nearly 60 years of marriage.

Lynn and Peggy raised their five children as they moved around the world, including Utah, Texas, Nebraska, Arizona, California, Idaho, Germany and England. Their youngest daughter Cheryl Ann Angell passed away in England at 3 Months in 1982.

Lynn served 20 years active duty in the United States Air Force, working in accounting and finance. He subsequently worked 6 months as an internal auditor for Circle K corporation, and then another 18 years civilian service as an auditor with the United States Air Force. He and Peggy enjoyed traveling and made the most of their many work assignments in the states and Europe. They also made and kept close friendships around the world.

Lynn and Peggy were faithful members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Lynn served a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, in West Germany from 1961-1964. He loved Germany and returned there for three work tours over his career. He never missed a chance to speak German if he could find a German speaker. Lynn had a strong love for his Savior Jesus Christ and always served where needed.

Lynn loved to play golf and work in his garden. He was full of life and shared his joy with everyone around him. He loved spending time with his children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren sharing his life stories with them. He was very proud of being a Retired Veteran of the United States Air Force.

Lynn passed away peacefully in his sleep at the Rocky Mountain Care Center in Riverton, Utah on February 21, 2026. The Angell family wishes to send their gratitude to the Nurses at the IHC Hospital and Rocky Mountain Care Center for their loving care during Lynn’s last days.
