Madison Makay Wagner

In the early morning hours on Sunday, July 13, 2025, our Madi was taken from this life, her young son and family after sustaining injuries in a car accident in West Valley City, Utah. Madi was born on June 19, 1999 in Sandy, Utah to Misty Reyes Wagner and J.L. Wagner. Madi was the ‘baby’ of her Mom’s 4 children.

Madi was beautiful, resilient and full of life. She loved everyone and was loved by all in return. She was a shoulder to lean on, a keeper of your secrets and the strong one in her family. She loved music and concerts here and in Red Rocks in Colorado. Vacations were the best, she started out in Utah, trips to see her family, she went to Washington, Cancun, Mexico and of course loved the days spent at the Reservoir. Fly high sweet Madi and visit all the places your sweet heart desires!!!

She was and is the cutest mama! She showed her son unconditional love, patience and strength. She was all things good, kind and gentle to her Xavian. She was a loving, supportive daughter. She was the little sister who stepped up and took care of her brothers. She was a niece who would seek advice, compliment the chef, and lend the dependable, helping hand. She was the cousin who would play games, share jokes and share in the special friendship only a cousin can. She was the granddaughter who would seek advice, share her burdens and fears, and confide her most sacred secrets. Plus, she got to enjoy the amazing Puerto Rican meals only her Grandma could make.

On October 29, 2015, Madison discovered the gift of unconditional love when her son, Xavian was born. He was her first true love. The two of them together have grown up and learned that the bond between a Mom and Child is filled with love, life lessons, and moments to take your breath away.

Xavian is now left behind as his Mom embarks on her journey in the Heavens. But, her love will cross the Heavens back to Xavian throughout his lifetime as she now lives on through him.

Madi was lucky when she discovered the meaning of true love when she met the other love of her life, Tyrel Ahlstrom. To find true love and be loved back with the love, trust, patience, kindness and gentleness he showed Madi, provided the love of a lifetime so few are fortunate enough to possess. Madi had the support, love and partnership that changed her life for the better. With Tyrell, Madi bloomed. She set goals, made plans, and had the complete love of a family all her own that she had always dreamed of as Tyrell became her partner and Xavian’s dad.

Madi studied hard, worked harder and earned her GED. She obtained her Dental Assistant Certification and worked at Abundant Dental of Holladay. She enrolled in Salt Lake Community College where she hoped to study in the field of Registered Dieticians. She herself believed that if she was going to study the field, she needed to get herself healthy and fit. She began working out daily and changed her own eating, drinking and habits to experience the healthy lifestyle she hoped to educate others on. All who knew Madi, saw the beauty and light she has always possessed, you saw it the minute she entered the room. Now, Madi finally saw the beauty and light herself when she committed to learning, got herself the healthiest she's ever been and had her little family to cheer her on. Her confidence soared and she made her dreams a reality. With her life on track she was the happiest she has ever been in her life.

That life ended way too soon and she leaves behind her two loves, Xavian and Tyrell. She also leaves behind her Mom, Misty Wagner (Sandy, UT). Brothers Jeffrey McCune (Sandy) & Dakota Wagner. Her bonus Sister, Rose Zollinger & niece Belle McCune (Draper). Her Grandmother, Martha Lucero Reyes (Sandy). Her Aunts and Uncles: Renee & Herb Cork, Troy & Bonnie Reyes and Marlene & Weston Norris. Her cousins: Celeste & Earl Amerine, Chantelle, Connor & Elizabeth McCown, Troy Reyes Jr, Landon Norris, Michael, Valerie & Mary Renee Cork, Hunter Norris and Mercedes Norris. Her lifelong best friend Nikole Nordstrom (Salt Lake City) Her family Todd and Camille Ahlstrom (Tooele). Kenzie, Brett & River Cherry, and Riley Ahlstrom & Sara Wrathall. She has numerous great aunts, uncles and cousins along with her friends who will all feel the loss of Madi.

She is preceded in death by her sister, Shelby Love Balsamini, her grandfather, Ben Reyes Jr., her great grandparents, Bienvenido Rios Reyes and Mercedes Perez Reyes. Great Grandparents Ramona Gutierrez Nelson, Edwardo Ernesto Lucero, and Guadalupe Pat Santana.
