Our Kind, Sweet Mother Margaret Christensen completed her remarkable earthly journey on Nov. 24th 2024. She was born in Rolapp, Ut Jan. 2nd 1927 to devoted Italian immigrant parents, Joseph and Teresa Bussio. She was the only girl in her family of two older brothers, Mario and Emil (both deceased) and two younger brothers Lawrence (deceased) and Aldo. When she was very young the family moved to Pleasant View (BYU Canyon Road) where Margaret attended Paige school and Lincoln High. She had very fond childhood memories of friends and neighbors.
She worked at Woolworths Drug Store as a teenager then as Dr. James Westwood’s assistant for eight years. Margaret married Charles Christensen from Chicago July 20th 1954. They were lucky enough to spend 57 years together before Chuck passed away in 2011.
Margaret was a wonderful cook, homemaker, and mom. She was a den mother, room mother and taxi driver to all kinds of lessons and events. She also had a green thumb, she loved growing flowers inside and out. Other passions were collecting dolls, tea cups and cookbooks!!!
While Margaret and Chuck lived at Leisure Village, she held the office of Treasurer for about 30 years. She relinquished that position when she moved away at the age of 93. Margaret also worked for the Urology Clinic in Provo for 13 years she treasured the friendships she made with the doctors and co-workers from the clinic.
Chuck and Margaret also belonged to the Good Sam’s Club (Timpanogos Moon Shiners Chapter) and enjoyed all the friendships and adventures they had with them. Great busy summers. They also enjoyed the trips to Europe, Mesa Verde, San Diego and the desert, etc., etc with Aldo and Valerie and had many wonderful memories.
Margaret loved her family deeply and enjoyed all the reunions and celebrations that brought her large extended family together. Margaret led her life in quiet joyful grace, she never spoke badly about people and always had hope and faith in tomorrow. She was a wonderful example to everyone that knew her and she has certainly earned her heavenly reward.
Margaret is survived by her daughter Mary Klug (Fred) and son Don Christensen, eight grandchildren and many great grandchildren. Margaret was also preceded in death by two great grandchildren Valerie Ann and Porter William.
The family would like to thank Sandy Bevan her hair stylist, for 40 years of loyal service, friendship and love going far and beyond expectations. We also thank the dedicated staff (Jerri, Jessica, Brandy and Spencer) from Health Watch Hospice for the past year of tender and skilled care provided to our beloved mother.
A Funeral Mass will be held for Margaret on Saturday Nov. 30th at 10:30 AM at San Andres Catholic Church, 315 E 100 N in Payson Ut.
Visitation and Brunch with the family will be held in the Church’s Social Hall from 9:00–10:15A.M. prior to the mass.
