Margaret Alice Summerhays

Margaret Alice Miller Summerhays, 97, of Midvale, UT passed away and returned to loving arms of her Heavenly Father on February 5, 2022.

She was born on December 4, 1924 in Bingham Canyon to John Erwin and Alice Lyle Casper Miller, she was the oldest of six children. She graduated from Jordan High School 1943.

She married Melvin Lindsay Summerhays on April 20, 1963, their marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple. She volunteered at Primary Children's Hospital, she worked as an ordinance worker at the Jordan River Temple for 18 years. Margaret and her husband Melvin served an LDS mission in Dallas, Texas from 1979-1981.

Margaret is survived by her children William Summerhays (Kathleen), Linda S Meyers, grandchildren John Cockerill, Paula Holder (Robert), Chantel Summerhays, Jennifer Ludwig (Benjamin), Angela Hansen (Todd),Trevor Summerhays (Jessica), great grandchildren Courtnie Klc (David), Nakeysha Steadman, Trista Hermann (Hunter), Jamie Marie Christensen (Noah), Lindsay Ludwig, Kyler Hansen, Andrew Ludwig, Ashylnne Hansen, Tayson Hansen, Collin Summerhays, Emmett Summerhays , Isaac Summerhays, great-great granddaughters Lilah and Alice Klc, and one sister Norma Tripp. She is preceded in death by both her parents John Erwin and Alice Lyle Casper Miller, her husband Melvin Lindsay Summerhays, her youngest daughter Alice Christine Summerhays, granddaughter Kelly Summerhays, two brothers John Albert Miller, Jay Leon Miller, and two sisters Beth Sellers, Joy Barnes.

The family would like to thank Symbii Hospice for the end of life care they provided for Margaret.

A viewing will be held at Goff Mortuary, 8090 So. State St., Midvale, UT 84047, on Friday, February 11 from 9:30-10:45 am, with funeral services at 11:00 am. Interment, Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park, 3401 So. Highland Dr. SLC, UT 84106.

In lieu of flowers please donate to Primary Children's Hospital in memory of Margaret Summerhays.

The funeral services will be live-streamed on the Goff Mortuary Facebook page. The video will appear when the service starts.
