Marguerite Juanita Hubbard Ensign, died on June 22nd, 2025 from having too many birthdays, she was 100 years old.
Marge was born on February 19th, 1925 in Thistle, Utah and was the daughter of James Jay Garland Hubbard and Vera Hemming Hubbard. She was the third of five children. She graduated from West High School and attended the University of Utah.
Marge married her sweetheart Harry R. Ensign on December 17th, 1946 in Salt Lake City, Utah. She worked nights as a long-distance operator for Mountain Bell while in college. One year before she married Harry “Hal” she earned her pilot license on August 17th, 1945.
She also worked for Salt Lake County Public Welfare Department, the SLC Child Welfare, Utah Foundation Tax Research, Utah State Tax Commission and finally for the State Department of Public Welfare as Statistician.
Marge is survived by her brother Joseph (Shirley) Wall; nephew Jim (Ruthann) Hubbard; niece Terry (Jerry) Ingleby; numerous nieces and nephews (13); great nieces and nephews (42).
Marge is preceded in death by her parents; husband Hal, one sister Jessie; brothers Arthur and Jay Jr.
Special thank you to her neighbors who have been so helpful over the years.
Graveside services will be held on Friday, June 27th at 10:00 AM at Murray City Cemetery, 5490 S. Vine St., Murray.
