Marian Chapman Johnson

Marian Chapman Johnson, our loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, aunt and friend, passed away of natural causes Monday, April 1, 2024 in Sandy, Utah at the age of 95. She was surrounded by her loving family.

Marian was born November 4, 1928 and lived a full life of loving service. She was the oldest of eight children, and her first babies who she cared for were her siblings. She married Clifford Mark Johnson, September 1, 1950, in Tacoma, Washington. They were later sealed in the Salt Lake Temple on May 9, 1960. Together they raised six children while simultaneously establishing and running Cliff Johnson Excavating. She was a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She served in numerous callings throughout her life including Relief Society President, Primary President and she enjoyed singing in the Ward Choir. She and Cliff served three missions for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

Marian is survived by her sisters Elaine (Tom) Kenney and Betty Chapman (Larry), brother Paul (Carole) Chapman, sisters-in-law Sherrill Chapman and Leslie Chapman, her children Ramona (Kyle) Taylor, Mark (Karen) Johnson, Wayne (Laurie) Johnson, Virginia (Thomas) Lemmon, Rebecca (John) Gaster, Scott (Suzanne) Johnson, eleven grandchildren, thirteen great-grandchildren, nine step grandchildren, twenty step great-grandchildren and ten step great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband Cliff, parents Arthur and Vivian Chapman, brother Clint and his wife Gerry, sister Vivian Krantz and her husband Paul, brothers Harold and Leslie, grandson Brandon Johnson and step grandson Jeff Tadlock.

Special thanks to the staff of Bristol Hospice and Sunrise of Sandy for the care they gave to our mother at the end of her life.

Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, April 10, 2024 at Telford Ward, 1834 East Creek Road. A viewing will be held Wednesday morning from 9:30 AM to 10:45 AM. Interment at Elysian Burial Gardens.
