Marilyn Davis Curtis

Our beloved mother, grandmother, and great grandmother, passed away quickly and peacefully in the early morning hours of Monday, May 13, 2024, surrounded by what mattered most to her, her family.

Born in Salt Lake City, UT on January 20, 1945, to Howard and Mary Davis.   She was the third of four children, and grew up in Salt Lake City, and graduated from South High School in 1963.  She married   Jerry Curtis on May 28, 1964, sealed in the Salt Lake Temple May 27, 1965.

After graduating from high school, Marilyn worked at Mountain Bell as a phone operator, and then became a stay-at-home mom to raise her 6 children.  She was involved  in the school PTA while her children were in school and enjoyed her bowling leagues and spending time with her family.  She made and crocheted many baby blankets and hot pads for her grandchildren and great grandchildren.  After her children were in school full time- she went to work at Zions Securities. She loved her time working and made many special and dear friends there.

Marilyn is survived by her children: Carolyn (Tim) Kalm; JoLayne (Gerald) Heath, Karen, Justin (Becky), Valarie (Aaron) Trujillo, and Alison (Chris) Miller.   Her grandchildren: Jordan (Chelsae), Jessica (Jeremy), Justin, Jamie (Brady), Jenna, Nick (Emmaline), Jaxon, Collin (Sadee), Corbin, Ashlynn, Porter, Dominic (Madi) Lindsay, Emma, Lucas, Laynee, Hailee, and Jake; great grandchildren: Violet, Jade, Reddington, McKenzie, Noah, Hadley, Hudson, Sky, Jax, Carter, Hudson, and Oliver.  Brother-in-law Paul Hastings, sister-in-law Dee Davis, as well as many nieces and nephews.

Preceded in death by her husband Jerry Curtis, her parents Howard and Mary Davis, and all three of her siblings Jeneil (Bob) Mills, Alan Davis, and Colleen Hastings.

As a family, we would like to thank those that spent time helping our Mom be comfortable in her last few years of life.  Especially Dr. Reid Hales, her primary care physician, and Dr. Nate Smith at Alta View Hospital, both were very personable and showed such compassion toward her.  Also, a huge thank you to our sister Karen for the countless hours she spent taking care of our mom.
