Our loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother and sister, Marilyn Margaret Bird Sadler returned home to our Heavenly Father on May 1, 2026. Marilyn passed away peacefully surrounded by the love and support of her family at The Cedarwood at Sandy Assisted Living Center at the age of 94. Marilyn was born on January 20, 1932 in Murray, Utah to Claude Russell Bird and Velma Edith Glover Bird. She graduated from Jordan High School in 1950 and married Glenn William Sadler on August 17, 1950. Their love was so strong that Marilyn changed the spelling of her name to Marilynn, “two" n's to match Glenn's name.
Marilyn was a very talented seamstress and was known for her wonderful homemade bread and Thanksgiving pies. Later in life after successfully raising her beautiful family she became an extraordinary porcelain doll maker. Her porcelain dolls were award winning and she eventually transitioned to teaching porcelain doll classes where she met and kept many wonderful friends.
Marilyn was a fun loving and social person. She was active in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints where she held many different positions over the years, but her favorite calling was working with the youth in the MIA, now the Young Women, program. She also loved to be around family and friends and after retirement she loved the weekly card games she played with her siblings and friends. Marilyn was an amazing mother, sister, friend and neighbor and we will always cherish her in our hearts.
Marilyn is survived by her children; Wendy (Frank) Setinsek, Debra Evans (Andy Wolfinger), Jeanne (Paul) Bernardo, Christian (Janet) Sadler and Annette Heiner (John O'Brien), many grandchildren, great grandchildren and great, great grandchildren. Marilyn is preceded in death by her husband, Glenn Sadler; daughter, Robyn Leamon; grandson-in-law, Daniel Lloyd Evans; great grandson, Talieson Pankau and sisters Beverly Nilsson and Lynette Farmer.
The family wishes to thank the staff at The Cedarwood at Sandy and members of the Refined Home Healthcare and Hospice for their loving care.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, May 8, 2026 at 12:00 p.m. with a viewing prior to the funeral services at 10:00 - 11:45 a.m. at Goff Mortuary, 8090 S. State Street, Midvale, Utah. Interment to follow services at Larkin Sunset Gardens, 1950 E. Dimple Dell Rd. (10600 S.), Sandy, Utah.
