Mary B. Petersen Parry

Our beloved daughter, sister, wife, mother, aunt and friend Mary B. Petersen Parry left this world on June 11, 2024 in Midvale, Utah. She was born April 7, 1962 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Victor and Evelyn Petersen. She is the third of four children in the Petersen household. Mary loved her family, and she was always the protector for her younger sister.

With Mary around, life was never boring. She had the personality that would draw friends to her and soon everyone would be laughing and enjoying time together. You would always find friends at the house for a rousing game of kick soccer or volleyball. Mary enjoyed participating in sporting activities.

Mary graduated from Hillcrest High School in 1980.

On June 29, 1991 she married her husband, Craig Parry. Craig said, “That Mary was the love of his life, and that he loved her more than life and will miss her dearly. Thank you, Lord for the blessing of her in my life.”

Mary always had a sense of adventure and enjoyed being outdoors. You would find her out camping, fishing, hunting, waterskiing, and riding their Harley Davidson Motorcycle.

She had her favorite spots where she enjoyed spending time. They include Snowbird, Newport Beach, California, and the cabin in Heber. Many hours were spent making memories with her family.

Mary spent her life supporting and encouraging her sons to achieve their goals. You would find her running down the football field with a video camera focused on her boys. She didn’t want to miss anything they did. As much as she loved her boys, the grandkids took it to another level. She often commented that “Grandkids are the best” and looked forward to time spent with them.

Mary loved seeing the faces of her family when she had a surprise for them. Making others happy made Mary happy.

Mary worked at the Draper Post Office for 20 years. You could find her doing the little extra things to make the work place a great place to be.

Mary is preceded in death by son Lucas and faithful dog Bowie. She is survived by husband Craig; children-Nick (Stephanie) and Derek (Kylee); six grandchildren; stepchildren-Jacquie, Jaime and Jenni; eight step grandchildren, five step great grandchildren; brother-in-law Bryan; sister-in-law Sally; parents Victor and Evelyn; siblings-Debbie (Dave), Vic Jr. and Janet.

A Celebration of Life will be held June 29, 6-7 pm at the LDS Church pavilion, 8171 S Jackson St., Midvale, UT. Casual dress.
