Nancy Ann Fowkes

Nancy Ann Fowkes, born December 29, 1952, passed away March 7, 2022, at her home in Mona, Utah.

Forever grateful to be a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Nancy's life will always be remembered by her testimony and impact on others. With a pure love of the Savior and a firm belief in His gospel, Nancy is the truest of instruments in God's hands.

Nancy grew up in Mona, Utah; born to Earl and Darlene Fowkes. After graduating from Juab High School, she attended Snow College, receiving her associate degree. After college, Nancy served a mission for the Church in London, England.

Upon completion of her mission Nancy lived many years in Price, Utah where she had multiple jobs leading her to become acquainted with many individuals that she loves and adores in that community. She worked as a logistics manager for Fowkes Trucking until her passing.  She was known for her calmness in chaotic situations, was very quick witted, and gave us many gems of wisdom that we lovingly refer to as, "Nancy-isms."

"Wonderbah" and "golly gee" were her signature phrases.  If you ever asked her how she was doing the answer always came out Wonderbah, not just I'm fine.  And if anything caught her eye then of course the phrase golly gee came up.  Her sassy spirit was always keeping us on our toes.

As the only girl with five brothers, she held her own. She enjoyed playing sports, a little classic rock-n-roll, and a good movie. Playing collegiate athletics at Snow College helped her to realize the importance of being part of something greater than herself. This attitude helped her gain a lifelong passion of always wanting the best for others.  Whether it was through her service in the Payson Temple, by her gentle love as a caregiver to her mother, or as a gifted listener; Nancy's service of love will always be known and felt.

Nancy was like a second mother to many of her nieces and nephews and all who knew her. When she moved back to Mona from Price, she began an extended family home evening, where our bonds as a family were made even stronger. Her service was felt by many and even after she began to lose mobility, she found ways to share her love of the Savior and bear her testimony to others when the opportunity arose. Nancy is very loved by her family and friends and "golly gee" will she be missed!

Nancy is survived by her five brothers: Tom (Elizabeth) Fowkes, Dale (Donna Lyn) Fowkes, Wayne Fowkes, Grant (Denise) Fowkes, and Glen (Bonnie) Fowkes; along with many nieces, nephews, and extended family. She is preceded in death by her parents, Earl and Darlene Fowkes.

Funeral services will be Saturday, March 12th at 11 am at the Mona 1st Ward chapel located at 65 E 100 N in Mona. There will be a viewing one-hour prior.  Interment will be at the Mona City Cemetery.
