Patricia Whiting

Patricia Ann Lowther Whiting, 79, passed on to her next life on Monday, January 2, 2023 at
Central Valley Medical Center in Nephi, Utah.
Pat was born on October 11, 1943 in Ogden, Utah to Clifford William Lowther and Helen
Draper Lowther. Eldest of three children who were all girls, Pat and her family lived in Ogden
until they moved to Nephi when she was 14 years old. Later, Pat attended and graduated from
Juab High School where she met her sweetheart, Delose Whiting. On April 15, 1961, Pat and
Delose were married in the Manti, Utah Temple. Together they lived out at the airport in Nephi
for a short time where they took care of and managed the airport, until they moved into their
forever home, remaining in Nephi. Pat and Delose fostered many children until Pat birthed their
son, Shane. Pat took in Brad Burningham, Shane’s childhood best friend and brother at heart,
as one of her own.
Pat suffered a long hard road with several health issues in her life, especially in her later years.
A special thank you to the staff at Heritage Hills Rehabilitation and care center who assisted
Pat for the last years of her life.
Talented and creative, Pat greatly enjoyed the artsy hobbies of crocheting and textile painting.
Pat had an appreciation for beauty such as in art, music, and creativity. Alongside her gardener
husband, Pat canned and bottled the fruits and vegetables they grew. She maintained her
home with love and always had welcoming arms for all loved ones and visitors, especially her
cherished grandchildren. Having backyard barbecues in the summertime with her friends and
family brought her great joy. One of Pat’s favorite pastimes and simple joys was getting a drink
and going for a drive with her loved ones, as always. Pat always had a kind, loving, welcoming
heart for everyone she met. Everyone who knew her loved her.
Preceded in death by parents Clifford and Helen, husband Delose Whiting, nephew Brett
Nelson, and sweet great granddaughter Indy Llew Jones.
Survived by sisters Terry Lowther Williams Flowers and Linda Lowther Nelson, son Shane
(Kathleen), grandchildren Megan (Robert), Skylee (McKay), Alyssa, Terah (Brian), and Chris
(Malissa), and many great grandchildren.
