Peggy Ann Koceja, passed away peacefully, June 22, 2025, surrounded by her loving family and friends.
Peggy was born on February 15, 1950, in Salt Lake City, Utah to Ann Sanders Hoopiiaina and Clifford L. Hoopiiaina. She was a devoted wife, survived by her honey, Wayne Charles Koceja with whom she shared 57 years of marriage. Peggy was a loving mother to her four children, Melissa (Derek), Amy (Brian), Michael (Korrin), and Angela. She was a cherished grandmother to 14 grandchildren, and 13 great-grandchildren.
Preceded in death by her parents Clifford and Ann, brother Randy, and great-grandson Jacob.
Peggy was the heart of her family a woman whose life was defined by unwavering love, quiet strength, and a generous spirit. As the matriarch, Peggy led with wisdom and love, guiding generations with her kind words and steady presence. She had a unique ability to make everyone feel seen and deeply loved, whether through a warm meal, a conversation, or a knowing smile.
Peggy lived a life of service to her family, her friends, and her community. She was a nurturer by nature, a steady source of comfort and encouragement, and the person you could always count on to listen. Her laughter filled the room, her stories connected the past to the present, and her love was the glue that held everyone together.
She found joy in the simple things from time with her grandchildren, long talks at the kitchen table, to Sunday dinners. Peggy taught those around her the meaning of love, light and kindness. We found safety in her. Safety in how she made us feel, and she surrounded all with unconditional love. We loved her back just as fiercely.
