Quinton Thomas Hansen

Beloved and youngest son of Melanie Gay Miller Hansen and Darrin Fred Hansen passed away tragically in the presence of his loving family.

He was born in Salt Lake City, Utah, alongside his twin brother, Carter, who passed away as an infant due to a heart condition. Quinton is survived by his parents and devoted siblings: Sadee H. Burton, Jed Hansen, Elise Hansen, and Widline Hansen, as well as his three young nieces.

Quinton led a very full and unique life. He was homeschooled by his mother and was a passionate self-directed learner. Following in his brother’s footsteps, he pursued martial arts and achieved the rank of third-degree black belt. He was also an accomplished harpist, a passionate rock collector, and an avid bird watcher from a young age. As a boy he wanted to be an electrical engineer when he grew up.

Quinton’s love of engineering led him into the world of flight, where he began with remote control airplanes and quickly progressed to drone flying. His fascination evolved into mastery—he custom-designed and built his own racing drones, and his exceptional talent earned him a place among the world’s elite. As an international professional drone racer, Quinton proudly represented the United States in global competitions. His dedication opened doors to opportunities in drone exhibitions, engineering, technical camera work, and aerial surveillance projects.

Quinton will be remembered for his bright personality, quick laughter, and unwavering kindness. He was a loyal and caring friend, always eager to help others and bring joy to those around him.

A funeral service will be held in his honor Saturday, June 14, 2025 at the LDS Chapel on 1500 West 13200 South. From 9:00-11:00 a.m. there will be a visitation followed by the funeral service. A graveside memory sharing will be held at Riverton Cemetery following funeral services. All are welcome.

Family, friends, and members of the drone racing community are invited to attend and celebrate Quinton’s remarkable life.
