Robert Kenneth “Kenny” Atkinson Sr. passed away at his home in Sandy, Utah on February 2, 2023. He was born January 30, 1925, in Charleston, West Virginia to Robert Nelson Atkinson and Hallie Veda Cummings. He loved growing up in West Virginia, spending time with his parents and sisters Arbutus and Jean, and brother David “Buddy” Atkinson. Kenny served in the US Army at the end of WWII helping with rebuilding efforts in Germany.

He married his college sweetheart, Julia Bell “Peggy” Donnally on January 2, 1948. They later traveled to the Salt Lake LDS temple to be sealed together with their children. They spent 62 wonderful years together and enjoyed serving three LDS service missions in Lawrence, Kansas and Pawhuska, Oklahoma. Kenny was a faithful member of the LDS church and held numerous callings and loved serving others.
