Robert (Bob) Ray Mayfield

Our sweet Dad, Husband, and Brother Robert (Bob) Ray Mayfield passed away in Murray Utah, on January 30, 2022, surrounded by Wife and Children.

He was born to Melba Sparks Mayfield Wade and Vernon Hess Mayfield on July 5, 1944, in Farmington, Utah.

Bob grew up in Kaysville, Utah and attended Davis High School. Bob was always a hard worker; he was a welder for a local Utah company for more than 30 years and after a welding injury he went on to drive truck regionally and locally.

Bob loved to garden; he would spend hours upon hours working outside. Most recently he loved flower gardens and working on home improvement projects.

Bob always had a joke to tell and could strike up a conversation with anyone anywhere he went.

We love him so much and are going to miss him dearly.

Bob is survived by 2 siblings, Margee Thomson and Bill Mayfield, 13 grandchildren, his wife Cathy Mayfield, daughter Wendy Mayfield, his ex-wife and friend Carolyn Mayfield, their children, Jennifer Groves (Mike Green), Stephanie Lyons (Kevin), Andrea Birch (Bryan) and his son Kyle Mayfield (Crystal).

Bob is preceded in death by his mother Melba Wade and his stepfather Francis Wade, his biological father Vernon Mayfield, his sisters Kathy Larkins, Betty Thomson, his brother Gary Wade, and granddaughter Brittany.

A viewing and family gathering will be held on Saturday, February 5th starting at 10:00 am at Goff Mortuary, 8090 S. State St. in Midvale, Utah, and there will be a graveside service at 12:00 noon at the Farmington Cemetery in Farmington, Utah.

A special thank you to the medical team at IMC in Murray, Utah, especially those in the Thoracic ICU for the extraordinary care provided to our Dad in his time of need.
