Robert Daley

Robert Garrard Daley (Bob), 88, passed away on Saturday, October 7th, 2023 in his home in Fountain Green, Utah. He was bom April 17th, 1935 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Robert and Rosella Garrard Daley. He spent his first three years in Gypsum, Colorado then moved to Payson, Utah where he spent the rest of his childhood. After graduation he met the love of his life Margie Hannah Hatfield by pure accident when she had backed her car into the ditch in front of his home. They fell in love and got married May 20th, 1954 and later sealed for time in all eternity in the Salt Lake LDS Temple on October 9, 1963.

They spent their married life in Mapleton and Springville where they raised their six beautiful children before moving to Fountain Green after Bob retired from Pittsburgh-Des Moines Steel in Provo, Utah were he worked as a maintenance supervisor for over thirty two years. Bob could fix anything you could need, he dedicated most of his time to his family. He loved to go hunting, fishing, golfing, bowling, and racing totegoats with his friends and family. One of Bob’s favorite places was to go up on the skyline to camp with his family every year. Bob loved all dogs especially Pugs and Chihuahua which of he had several of.

Bob was a member of the LDS church where he held priesthood and many other positions. He baptized and blessed most of his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.

He is survived by his six children, Danny Daley, Patti (Dan) Carlson, Gary Daley, Gordon Daley, Mike (Jan) Daley, and Judy (Rex) Jacobson, a brother Joe (Nellie) Daley, a sister Janet Paxton, brother-in-law Ronnie (Colleen) Hatfield, 19 grandchildren, 40 great grandchildren and many great great grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his loving wife Margie, his parents, two brothers, one sister, one brother-in-law, four sisters-in-law, and grandson Weston Daley.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, October 13, 2023 at 11:00 am with a viewing from 9:45 am to 10:45 am at the church located at 151 S. 200 W., Fountain Green, Utah. There will be a viewing held Thursday night from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm at the Anderson Funeral home located at 94 W. 300 N., Nephi, Utah.
