Rodney Fredrick Kruger

Rodney passed away suddenly but peacefully at home on December 3, 2025. He was born on July 22, 1947 to Venna Welch and Wilford F. Kruger in Salt Lake City, Utah. Rod served in the United States Army with an Honorable Discharge.

Rod had a great work ethic, his many jobs included running his own floor cleaning business, school bus driver, school janitor, and a prison guard at Utah State Penitentiary. He worked for Green Fiber Trucking as a long-haul truck driver, pulling triple trailers. He also worked for Swift Trucking as a trouble shooter and dispatcher. Also, before his passing he was currently employed at Advance Auto as a parts driver. He wore many hats.

He will be dearly missed by his wife Janene Kruger and her children. Along with his 8 children, son Michael, son Paul, son John (Julia), son Justin (Zal), son William, daughter Heidi (Lee), daughter Anne (Tony) and daughter Suzi (Louis). 10 grandchildren Bradon, Tatum, Sadone, Thomas, Wilford, Howard, Peyton, Parker, Katie and Marcello. Siblings Tamara (Wally), Kim (Michelle) and Cindee (Paul).

Preceded in death by daughter Elizabeth “Lizzie” and his parents Wilford and Venna Kruger.

Graveside services will be held on Friday, December 12th at 2:00 PM at the Sandy City Cemetery, 9000 South 700 East, Sandy.
