Russel Lenoix Newby

Russel Lenoix Newby, born September 25, 1962, joined his Mother and Father on Thursday, April 11, 2024.

Russ was a strong hard working tender-hearted, fun loving big tease; but most of all he was a loving Father, Grandad, Son, Brother, Uncle and Friend.

He was a Mechanic Extraordinaire with a talent for removing the unmovable bolt. Customer’s and friends always sought Russ out for his talents.

Russ had a strong work ethic that began at an early age delivering papers for the SLC Newspaper Agency and cleaning for the Midvale Francesco’s restaurant. And soon his love for cars brought him to his Mechanic Status of today.

Early in 2000 Russ was reunited with his daughter Ashley while she was in her teens. This gave Russ many fun years as a father and in 2011 he became a grandfather for the first time! There were 2 more beautiful grandchildren to follow. Tyson his oldest grandson talks about how kind and fun his grandpa was. These three Grandkids only proved how proud he was to be a father and grandfather.

Russ loved the outdoors and working in the yard he took pride in mowing with his “Sweet-Ass” lawnmower and keeping the yard up to mom’s expectations.

Russ was a great Lover of animals and always had a faithful friend at his side. His latest Special Friend is still waiting and expecting him around 6pm for his treats! Thats how he got the title of the “CandyMan”!

Russel always stayed close to his mother Marie Turner. He lived in Texas for a short time, but became homesick for his momma, the Utah mountains and his home. He returned to help raise his little sisters Sunny and Shauna. When he became the Uncle Extraordinaire he stepped up to the plate and helped raise his niece Kisha Marie Turner. Now he and his mom have been reunited to help guide us through this life. And as the sun sets on our beloved family our ROCK STAR RUSS lives on in our hearts and memories.

Preceded in death by father Lacont Lenoix Newby and Mother Ida Marie Turner.

Survived by brother Philip Lee Newby, wife Teresa and family, sisters Kelly Gattis and family, Sunny and Chad Crowl family, Shauna Turner, his loving daughter Ashley, Tyler and grandchildren Tyson, Wesley and Aranell Harding, niece Kisha Turner and Casey and Cael Estwiller, and many more nieces, nephews, cousins, Aunts and Uncles.
