Russell Craig and Susan Chapman Green

In loving memory of Russell Craig Green and Susan Chapman Green.

It is with profound sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved parents, Russell and Susan, who miraculously left this world only a few hours apart, in the early morning hours of June 15, 2024. Russ passed due to complications resulting from a severe brain injury, and Sue passed after a long battle with renal failure. They both passed peacefully, side by side, in the comfort of their own home. We would like to thank all who assisted in their care, including (but not limited to) the amazing team from Intermountain Hospice & Homecare, and the fantastic folks at Mt. Nebo DaVita Dialysis Center. A special thank you as well, to our little “Dream Team" of family members who each spent countless hours at Russ’ bedside, ensuring he was never alone, throughout the 9 weeks that he was hospitalized.

Russ and Sue were devoted partners, cherished parents, beloved grandparents, treasured friends to many, and respected citizens of their community.

Russell Craig Green was born on September 23, 1951, in Salt Lake City, UT., to George Roy Green and LaRae Cole. He was the 2nd oldest of 5 children. Susan Chapman Green was born on December 26, 1960, in Salt Lake City, UT., to Barney B. Chapman and Eugenia M. Jentzsch. She was the youngest of 11 children. Russ & Sue’s paths crossed in 1983 when a mutual friend introduced them, leading to a beautiful union on September 6, 1984 that lasted for 40 years. Their love story was a testament to their commitment, strength, and unwavering devotion to one another.

The life they created together was filled with joy, laughter, and countless cherished memories. Their unconditional love and support shaped the lives of their children, Mike Green, Kirk Green, and Candi Green-Bergstrom, who will carry their legacy forward with the same love and kindness they exemplified.

Sue was known for her great sense of humor, boundless generosity, remarkable courage, and steadfast loyalty, while Russ was celebrated for his gentle spirit, creative talents, incredible work ethic, and unwavering patience. They were both passionate about providing a good life for the many pets they've had over the course of their relationship, hosting family reunions, and dedicating much of their time to acts of service.

Their loss is deeply felt by all who knew them, but we find comfort in knowing that they are free of their ailments and are together in eternal peace. They leave behind a legacy of love, compassion, and integrity that will continue to inspire those who were fortunate enough to have known them.

A joint memorial service will be held on Friday, June 28, 2024 at 151 S. 200 W. (LDS church), Fountain Green, UT. Please come and share stories and comfort the family from 10:00am to 11:00am. The funeral will begin at 11:00am, followed by a luncheon for family. A graveside service will be held at a later date. We gratefully thank Brent Yorgason for the generous donation of their headstone. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in their memory to the American Kidney Foundation, Susan G. Komen, or Evergreen Animal Rescue.

The void left by their departure can never be filled. But, we will honor their memory by living our lives with the same love, kindness, and generosity that they bestowed upon us.

Rest in peace, Russell and Susan Green. Your love and legacy will remain with us forever.
