Ruth Ellen Lowry McClure, age 76, passed away July 13, 2021 due to complications of Sepsis infection, stroke, heart, and kidney failure. She was born January 17, 1945 in Oakley Idaho to James Hansen and Erma Larson Lowry. She met her love of her life, Leslie William McClure, and married July 29, 1966 in the Salt Lake Temple.
A viewing will be held on Saturday, July 17, 2021 from 10 am-11:15 am, followed by a funeral service starting at 11:30 am, at their LDS church, 13006 South Boulter Street,Draper, UT 84020.
Ruth Ellen "Ruthie" was everyone's friend. She made life-long friendships at work, church, stores, and everywhere she frequented.
She used to love to sew all of her clothes back in the day, and did the same for her daughter. She was an amazing homemaker. Speaking of holidays, she would dress up in a new costume during the week for the entire month of October, and pass around candy to businesses, her family, and school kids, as they waited at the bus stop in her neighborhood. Holidays were magical at her home. She would decorate her beautiful home for almost every holiday.
Weekly, she would take goodies to a family member, or baked goods, or just put something on the door step, just to let us know, she was thinking about us. One day, she brought her rocking chair over to Heather's house and sat and rocked in it, on the sidewalk, and greeted the kids as they walked to the bus. She loved making people smile, and laugh.
Ruthie loved her job at Zions Securities and had amazing bosses and co-workers.
She was a very loving and supportive wife. She spent hours assisting my dad with his studies for his pilot's license and renewals. She would go to all of his concert performances. There was nothing she wouldn't do for him.
Ruthie was a devout member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and loved her Savior and Heavenly Father. She lived her life in the way she believed was correct.
Ruth Ellen is survived by her husband, Leslie McClure, daughter Heather (Troy), grandchildren Aaron (Sal), Alexa (Tyler), Tag (Catt), and Colin, great grandchildren Luca, Rue, Sy, and one on the way, sisters, Carol and Gerta (Orval), in-laws, Aleta (Hugh), David (Francie), and Cynthia, and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.
Preceded in death: parents, James and Erma Lowry, sisters, Helen, and Loretta, and son, Aaron McClure.
