Sandra “Sandy” Joan Watkins Page was born on May 12, 1938, in Tremonton, Utah to Thelma “Doll” Harris Watkins and Elijah K. Watkins. She passed away on the evening of November 19, 2023 peacefully in her home after a short battle with leukemia.
She lived in Beaver, Utah, Santa Monica, California, and Salt Lake City, Utah before moving to Logan, Utah. She graduated from Logan High School. Her family loved camping, fishing, and doing all things outdoors. These activities usually included her aunts, uncles, and cousins. She loved recalling memories and telling stories of camping by Old Faithful in Yellowstone as a young girl.
Sandra loved to play softball and was in a dancing group during high school. She was very involved with her friends and family in many church activities and loved being a part of Road Shows. She received her Silver Gleaner and Golden Gleaner awards as a teenager.
After high school she worked for Utah State Government in the Federal Building in Salt Lake City, where she met Ronald LaFarr Page. They married in the Logan temple on October 25, 1957. Ron and Sandy had a great love for each other.
They lived in Salt Lake City for eight years. They had four children – and then moved to Tarrytown, New York where they lived for three years. Next they moved to Sacramento, California where they lived for four years. Then, on to South Bend, Indiana for five years where two daughters joined the family. They continued their moving across the country pattern with a move to Coral Springs, Florida, then Stamford, Connecticut, and finally back to Salt Lake City – she was so happy to be back near her sisters Sherry and Marilyn. Unfortunately, that return was short-lived and they moved to Greensboro, North Carolina and lived there for seven years and then Scottsdale Arizona until Ron retired. Shortly after retiring they moved to Draper, Utah and lived in the same house in the Draper 2nd ward.
Sandra was baptized a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in the Salt Lake Tabernacle when she was eight years old. She served in many church callings and was a Primary President and Relief Society President twice. She served in scouts as a den mother and was the driving force of her three sons receiving their Eagle Scout awards. She taught Primary and Relief Society, and always diligently served as a visiting teacher and ministering sister. While they lived in New York, she enjoyed being part of the Singing Mothers. Sandra loved serving in the office of the Mesa Arizona and Draper Utah Temples.
Sandra was passionate about:
1. Her testimony of her Savior Jesus Christ;
2. Her devotion to her faith;
3. Her love of temple service;
4. Her love for sewing and crafts. She has created innumerable beautiful items for family, friends and every spare inch of wall space. She was always willing to teach anyone how to sew, quilt or make dolls; and
5. Her family.
Sandra’s greatest joy will always be her family. Sandra loved being with her husband, her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren and considered the past few weeks a huge blessing as she spent much time with them.
Sandra is survived by her two sisters: Sherry (Reid) Goldsberry, Marilyn Rhees, 6 children: Jana (Scott) Walch, Randy (Stacey) Page, Kenin (Missy) Page, Dennis (Connie) Page, Nanci (Pete) Wadsworth and Jonne Page, 20 grandchildren and 25 great grandchildren with 2 more arriving next year. And, maybe 150 dolls!!
