Sharon Newbold

“Together with family again”

Sharon Newbold was a devoted daughter, sister, friend, cousin and aunt. She passed away unexpectedly on Friday, April 17, 2026, at 9:30 p.m.

She was born December 4, 1946, in Salt Lake City, Utah to Vernal and Barbara Newbold. She grew up in Midvale and attended Hillcrest High School. After graduating from Brigham Young University in Elementary Education she went on to teach in Bluebell Utah and loved it there. Then she spent 28 years of devoted service to her many elementary students who loved her, taking them on trips and planning many wonderful plays.

Sharon was a woman of great faith and loved her savior, Jesus Christ. She served a mission in Ireland which she has always loved. Sharon was also called as a missionary on Temple Square. She loved the Temple, attended often and spent many hours doing genealogy. Devoted hours were spent in her church callings and service to others.

Sharon was fun, full of life, loved playing jokes and planning parties and reunions. Her greatest joys in life were her family, spending time with her friends, nieces and nephews. She especially loved her close cousins and getting together with them giving each other love and support. After retirement, she enjoyed traveling to many beautiful places and golfing with her close friend Carol.

Survived by her sisters Judy (Douglas) Norton, Beverly (Dennis) Harward, Suzanne Lindsay; 10 nieces and nephews; 16 grand nieces and nephews and many cousins.

Preceded in death by her loving parents, Vernal and Barbara Newbold.

Sharon’s loss will be felt by many loving family members and friends.

Funeral Services: Saturday, April 25, 2026, 11:30 a.m. with a viewing prior at 9:30 – 11:00, Meadowlark Ward, 2180 East Meadowlark Way (9020 South), Sandy, Utah.

Viewing: Friday, April 24, 2026, Goff Mortuary, 8090 South State Street, Midvale, Utah, 6:00 to 8:00 p.m.

Interment: Larkin Sunset Gardens.
