Shauna Irene Hambleton Sprague

We are deeply saddened for the passing of My Love, our mother, grandmother, and daughter. Shauna was born May 9, 1962, in Salt Lake City, Utah to Steven Hambleton and Pamela Irene Hambleton.

On June 9th, 1983, she married her Junior High sweetheart and lifelong soulmate, Bill Sprague of Midvale, Utah. It is a marriage that would last 39 years and far longer into eternity. Their marriage consisted of two bodies but one soul. They brought four amazing children into this world that they are so proud of. The way she looked at her children with so much love and admiration are what gave her life purpose.

Shauna was such a free spirit and genuinely loved the nature all around her. She would sit for hours calmly talking and watching all the wildlife at grandpas’ cabin. Didn’t matter how long it took she would wait, patiently and quietly until the moment where one would come right up to her and take food from her hand, believe it or not one time even from her mouth. Anyone that knew Shauna, knew that when she had her mind set on something, nothing could stop her. From animals to enclosure or many different crafts over the years. If she was going to do it, she was going to do it better than anyone one else ever had. She would spend days upon weeks and even months researching her current endeavor. Once she knew the ins and outs of it all then it was go time. She could take an old piece of furniture and turn it into a beautiful bird sanctuary that looked like it came straight out of a magazine. She could take an empty fish tank and turn it into an Amazonian rainforest. She could raise birds so loving and playful that they could play fetch and even play dead. She could take anything from inside her mind and turn it into a reality.

None of us though knew how truly passionate and dedicated she could be until the day she became a grandma. Her grandbabies were her everything. She was there the day they were all born and never left their side. If one of them needed her she would drop everything on a dime and get to them as fast as she could. Didn’t matter what state or how long it took she was there with them until all the boo boos were healed. She was their best friend and their loudest cheerleader. Being an adult but never truly have grown up she would play with them endlessly. Lots of tickles, laughter, and games. Creating endless family memories that none of us will ever forget.

She was truly “One in a Million” and nothing will ever be the same again. We will stay strong together as a family. Holding one another up when all we want to do is fall. We will be strong for her and take comfort in knowing that she is with her mom and grandbaby Corbyn.

Shauna is survived by her soulmate for life, Bill Sprague, Four amazing children; Pamela (Shaun) Jerz, Christin (Destiny) Sprague, Rachelle (Tyrel) Dean, Will Jr. (Sara) Sprague, her father Steven, and his wife Kookie, and fifteen beautiful grandchildren, Abigayle, Madalyn, Cyrus, Corbyn (in Heaven) Kaidyn, Kaizley, Kenneth, Makayla, Divinity, Cohen, Grayson, Tatum, Brayden, Sydney, Landon, and Skylar. She is preceded in heaven by her grandmother Rose, mother Pamela, and grandson Corbyn.
