Susan Kay Mickelsen, age 78, died unexpectedly at her home on December 7th, 2021, in Salt Lake City, UT.
Susan was born in Salt Lake City LDS Hospital on November 12, 1943, and raised in Draper, UT by her parents Frances Seaton Mickelsen and Woodrow S Mickelsen. She graduated from Jordan High School, received her Bachelor Degree from BYU, and her Master's Degree in Social Work from the University of Utah. Susan had an incredible career working for Utah Governor Calvin Rampton, Iowa Governor Robert Ray, as a Vice President for Evans and Sutherland and eventually as owner and General Contractor for Lupine Enterprises building beautiful homes throughout the Salt Lake Valley.
While Susan's education and career were especially important to her, her greatest passion and accomplishment was her children. Susan adopted all three of her children and was a fiercely loving and protective mom who taught and challenged her children to always do more and be more.
Susan is survived by her three children, two grandchildren, and her two great-grandchildren.
Family and friends are invited to attend her services on Tuesday, December 14th, at Anderson and Goff Mortuary, 11859 South 700 East, Draper, UT. The viewing will take place at 10:00 am, service at 11:00 am.
