Syvilla Charlene Breedlove, 82, passed away peacefully in her sleep on July 2, 2025.
Born on March 17, 1943, in Terre Haute, Indiana, Syvilla was the beloved daughter of Vivian Osborne and James Bedwell. On June 1, 1961, she married the love of her life, Billy Tom Breedlove, in Dallas, Texas. They shared 61 beautiful years of marriage, building a life grounded in love, adventure, and unwavering devotion.
Syvilla was a woman of endless curiosity, creativity, and warmth. A passionate reader, she regularly read five books a week and was always eager to learn something new. She had a lifelong interest in history and crystals, and enjoyed expressing herself through crocheting, ceramics, and painting. You could often find her wearing one of her many pieces of turquoise jewelry watching old Western movies.
She had an adventurous spirit and a deep love of travel. With her husband, who was a pilot, she explored the world — visiting London, Spain, South America, and countless destinations across the United States. Remarkably, just two weeks before her passing, Syvilla checked off a final item on her bucket list with a trip to Mount Rushmore in South Dakota, a journey she had long dreamed of.
Above all, Syvilla cherished time with her family. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, and found her greatest joy in being surrounded by those she loved. To her great-grandchildren, she was lovingly known as "Nana" — a name that will forever carry the warmth, love, and kindness she shared with them.
Syvilla is preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, Bill Breedlove. She is survived by her children: Billy Tom Breedlove (Debra), Kellie Snyder, Regina Gurr, Allen Roy Breedlove (Kelly), Jill Hunt (Tyler Hall), and Millicent Puglisi (John). She is also survived by many grandchildren and great-grandchildren who will miss her dearly and hold her memory close to their hearts.
A viewing will be held in her honor on Wednesday July 9, 2025 at Anderson & Goff Mortuary in Draper, UT from 3pm-5pm. A private family service will be held to celebrate her life after the viewing.
In lieu of flowers, the family encourages you to honor Syvilla’s memory by reading a good book, creating something beautiful, watching a classic Western, or taking a trip—whether near or far—in the spirit of curiosity and joy that she embodied every day.
