Teresa Stephensen Draper

Teresa Stephensen Draper passed away on January 27th, 2026 surrounded by her loved ones and friends.

She was the second daughter to Jerry and Cindy Stephensen, born September 24th, 1970 in Nephi, Utah. Growing up she loved competing in gymnastics and running the streets of Levan. She graduated from Juab High School in May of 1988. While in high school she was head cheerleader and the life of the party. After high school, she graduated from Bon Losse Hair Academy alongside her best friend, Lorette Nielsen. She went on for the next 36 years doing what she loved.

In 1990, she married Shawn Bryan. They had two children, Brittney J and Rylee Dawn (Bug). They later divorced but remained good friends. She then married Roy Draper in 2004 and gained three step-sons, Casey, Jared, and Jonathan. They had one daughter together, Dusti Leigh. They later divorced and also remained good friends. In 2021, she met her soulmate Kyle Jon Carter and gained two more step children, Ciara and Colton.

A huge part of her life was spent following all three of her girls around playing any and all kinds of sports. She enjoyed every second watching her girls compete and excel at what they loved. She enjoyed rodeos and going to the NFR every year with Kyle and always found the dance floor.

Everywhere she went, she made friends and made it a habit to get to know everyone’s life stories. She was kind and nurturing to all children even those who weren’t her own, especially her nieces and nephews. Her clients were a huge part of her life and were the reason she enjoyed going to work every day. Her coworkers were some of her closest friends and she loved working alongside them. She will be deeply missed by all those who knew her, especially her family.

Teresa is survived by her soulmate and partner in crime, Kyle Jon Carter. Her three children: Brittney Bryan, Rylee Lynn (Kolton), and Dusti Draper. Her stepchildren: Ciara Ash Carter, and Colton Carter (Taylee). Her parents: Jerry and Cindy Stephensen. Her sisters: Gina Jenkins and Hiedee Oliver (Nathan). Her grandchildren: Dayton Lynn and Tuli Carter. Her nieces and nephew: Chase Oliver, Lynzee Jenkins, and Jakell VanSchoiack. And many life long friends.

Teresa is preceded in death by her grandparents: Merril and Myrtis Stephensen, Don and Nell Ingram. Her brother in laws: Gordon Jenkins, and Scott Baxter.

Funeral services will be Tuesday, February 3, 2026 at 11:00 AM with a viewing from 9:00 - 10:45 AM at the Nephi Stake Center, 351 N 100 W, Nephi, Utah 84648. Burial will be at the Vine Bluff, Cemetery.
