Terry Lee Criger

Terry Lee Nelson Criger, age 76, passed away peacefully on July 10, 2021, in Midvale, Utah.  She was born on July 25, 1944 in Douglas, Arizona to Ray and Wanda Nelson and was the oldest of 5 children.

Terry grew up in Tucson, Arizona.  She learned the value of hard work during her childhood from her parents.  She was a loyal and kindhearted friend to all who knew her.  Terry was a nurturing and giving person throughout her life.  She was a lifelong member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.  She loved the Lord and served in various callings at church during her lifetime offering her love to others and putting their needs before her own.

Terry always kept herself busy.  She enjoyed many activities such as crafting, bowling, playing softball, and playing cards with friends.  In her final years, she became an avid bingo player, loved putting puzzles together with friends, and continued her love of watching all sports.

Life was not always easy for Terry. She faced several trials and disappointments during her lifetime, but she managed to keep pushing forward no matter the difficulty, especially the last 5 years of her life. Terry was not afraid to work hard. She worked in the food industry business and managed several McDonalds restaurants over a period of 30 years, as well as worked as a cafeteria worker at several local schools at the same time. After doing this for many years, this activity took a toll on her body and she finally decided to retire.

She is survived by her children; Char (Billie) Fridley; Rod (Theresa) Criger;  Pam (Steve) Hubble; 11 grandchildren;  9 great-grandchildren;  brother, Rod (Marsha) Nelson;  sister, Judy (Kim) Butler; sisters-in-law, Geri Nelson and Mariann Nelson.  She is preceded in death by her parents and brothers, Gary and Max Nelson.

The family would like to thank and express our appreciation to the residents and staff at Harmony Hills Assisted Living who provided friendship, service, and support to her in her final years. We would also like to thank her Flexcare Case Management team, Julie and Emilee, One Care Home Health, and Dignity Hospice for the additional care and love shown towards our mother.  Also, thank you to her Relief Society Presidency of the Midvale 16th branch who came and sat with her when we couldn't.

A graveside service will be held on Monday, July 19, 2021 at Binghampton LDS Cemetery located at  4001 N Alvernon Way, Tucson, AZ 85718, at 9 AM.

In lieu of flowers, the family has asked that you offer an act of kindness to others in honor of Terry.
