Terry Lynn Hart

A beloved, caring, and giving man passed peacefully in Sandy, Utah on 14 February 2026 after a courageous battle with cancer and Parkinson's disease.

Terry retired from the Jordan River School District and the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints after 40 years. Known as "coach," he mentored students in practical life skills, and coached the Special Olympics. A hard-worker and an amazing father, Terry exemplified the character of a life well-lived.

Born and raised in Murray, Utah, he served a faithful LDS mission and remained active in church. He loved sports, especially watching BYU, the Jazz, and the Mammoths.

He was preceded in death by his parents; Amos W. Hart and Marie A. Smith Hart, his brothers; Owen, Allen, and Brent, and his sister; M. Elaine Sevy. Terry is survived by his ex- wife, Brenda D. Hart, children, Jennifer L. and Brandon J. Hart, his brother, Calvin A. Hart, and his sister, Mina V. Hart.

A viewing will be held on Friday, February 20th from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at Goff Mortuary, 8090 S. State Street, Midvale. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, February 21st at 11:00 AM with a viewing one hour prior at the Sandy West Stake Center, 220 East 8680 South, Sandy. Interment to follow at Sandy City Cemetery, 9000 South 700 East, Sandy.
