Our husband, father, friend, and beloved Denver Bronco fan passed peacefully in the early evening hours with his wife at his side. He was born in Cook County Illinois and moved to Denver Colorado as a child. He graduated from Ranum High School in 1986 then went to Denver Auto and Diesel, graduating in 1987.
He planted his roots in Utah after serving in the Army and attended Fortis College where he earned an HVAC degree in 2012. He held several different jobs through the years but always went back to heating and air, it was his passion. Tom has two children from his first marriage, seven step children from his current one, and tons of grandkids.
Friends and family share fond memories with him including singing, dancing, boating, attending sporting events and so much more. He went to Dee’s Family Restaurant in Taylorsville often and everyone there knows him by name. He was the party anywhere he went. Tom would strike up a conversation with anyone, almost always bringing up the Denver Broncos or Utah Hockey Club. When he married Vicki last year he told her that it would be an adventure and that they are both Deckers so they will get through it.
He is preceded in death by family and friends. He is survived by many who love and will miss him, including his dog Barkley. Here’s to unlimited rides on a Zamboni, you’ve wanted to for so long. We will miss you.
A celebration of life in Tom’s honor will be held at a later date with details to follow.
