Thomas Joseph Yengich Jr. (“Pa”)

With profound sadness, we announce the unexpected passing of Thomas Joseph Yengich Jr., lovingly known to so many as “Pa,” on July 15, 2026, at the age of 84.

Thomas was born on April 13, 1942, in Highland Boy, Utah, to Thomas and Viola Yengich. He spent most of his life in the Midvale and South Jordan areas, where he built a life centered on hard work, family, and finding joy in the little things.

Thomas proudly served his country in the United States Army. Throughout his life, he was a true jack of all trades. There wasn’t much he couldn’t fix, build, or figure out. He took pride in working with his hands, helping others, and always finding a way to get the job done.

On May 14, 1966, he married the love of his life, Rosalie “Rose” Tangaro. Together they built a life filled with love, laughter, and countless cherished memories.

If you knew Tom, you knew there was never a dull moment around him. He was funny, quirky, and always had something random to say that would leave everyone laughing. He had a unique way of making people smile, lightening the mood, and reminding those around him not to take life too seriously. His quick wit, stories, and unforgettable one-liners will be remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing him.

And no tribute to Tom would be complete without mentioning his beloved cats, Whisper and Rosie. They were more than pets; they were family and brought him endless happiness and companionship. Anyone who knew Tom knew just how much those two cats meant to him.

Thomas was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Rosalie “Rose” Tangaro; his parents, Thomas and Viola Yengich; and his siblings, Patricia Yengich Walton, Thomas Yengich, and Richard Yengich.

He is survived by his children, Debbie Clifford (Bill) and Tommy Yengich (Taylor); his grandchildren, Dustin Hatch, Terhan Yengich (Dani), Zack Clifford (Austin), and Stephen Yengich (Tiara); five great-grandchildren; and many extended family members and dear friends who will forever cherish his memory.

Though our hearts are saddened by his unexpected passing, we find comfort in the memories he leaves behind, the laughter he shared, the lessons he taught, and the love he gave so freely. His legacy is one of resilience, kindness, humor, and unwavering devotion to the people and animals he loved. He will be deeply missed, fondly remembered, and forever loved.
