Todd Elliott Evans

It is with deep sorrow and enduring love that we announce the sudden passing of Todd Elliott Evans of Park City, Utah. Todd left us in a tragic accident on Friday, May 9, 2025 at the age of 60 .

Todd was born in Salt Lake City, Utah on April 23, 1965, to Christine Alsop and Elliott Willard Evans, Jr. (Bill), both of whom preceded him in death.

Todd was a proud graduate of the University of Utah, where he not only pursued his academic goals but also found lifelong friendships and brotherhood as a dedicated member of the Sigma Chi Fraternity.

Todd was an extraordinarily hard worker his whole life and a true entrepreneur. In the early 1990’s he co-founded Boardwalk Remodeling and Design with two other Sigma Chi’s. His leadership and skills created opportunities and lasting careers for many friends and employees. As his success continued to grow, in 2005, in Park City, he founded Blackdog Builders, named in honor of the beloved family dog, Susie. Through vision, dedication and heart, Todd built the company into a highly respected and successful business. Todd also believed in giving back to the community and was a supporter of many local nonprofit organizations.

Todd loved his family and friends deeply. He was known to be the first one to text on a loved one’s birthday. He was kind, genuine, and carried an unwavering positive attitude that uplifted everyone around him. He was a natural leader, a guidepost for his children and someone others turned to for support, wisdom and encouragement.

Todd was, above all a devoted father. He poured his love and positive energy into his relationship with his children, leaving behind memories of laughter, adventure, unconditional love and support . He will be deeply missed, but his memory lives on in every shared smile and in every terrible (but hilarious) dad joke told in his honor.

A lifelong outdoor enthusiast and adventurer, Todd found solace in nature in all different elements. He enjoyed hiking unchartered trails, fly fishing, boating, rock collecting, skiing and hunting throughout his life. He had a special connection with all kinds of animals, he was a devoted and loving GrandPAW to his family’s dogs.

Todd also had a lifelong love for music. He was a passionate fan of live music and a lifelong devotee of the Grateful Dead. His love of music spanned many genres. Concerts were among his happiest places. He loved to travel and embraced the chance to experience new places, people and cultures, always with curiosity and openness.

Todd is survived by his longtime partner Shoree Boyd; his three loving children, Amanda Laura Evans (Matthew Elliott Burke), Jack Bradley Evans, and Elliott Buck Evans (Christina Rose Evans); his two beloved stepsons, Nathan and Chase Boyd and his sister, Jennifer Lynn Evans. He also leaves behind countless friends, extended family members and cherished dogs.
