Viola Casillas

Viola Casillas was born on November 9, 1930, in Cleveland, New Mexico, to her mother, Matilde Maes, and father, Jacavo Aragon. She passed away peacefully in the comfort of her home on October 20, 2026, leaving behind a family who will forever cherish her memory. 

Viola was a beloved wife, sister, and cherished member of her family. In 1952, she married her beloved husband, Luis Casillas, and together they made their home in Midvale, Utah, where they built a life filled with love and treasured memories. 

Viola found joy in the simple pleasures of life. She loved crocheting, traveling, and, most of all, cooking for her family and friends. Through her cooking, she shared her love with those around her, bringing people together and creating special memories that will be treasured for years to come. Her love for her family and the time she spent with those closest to her will always remain a meaningful part of her legacy. 

Viola was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Luis Casillas, and her siblings Frank Leyba (Carmen), Joe Aragon (Andrea), and Benjamin Aragon (Clara) Mary Lucero Clemens (Ben). 

Though her passing leaves a deep sadness in the hearts of those who loved her, the memories she created, the traditions she shared, and the love she gave will continue to live on. She will be remembered with love and gratitude by all who had the privilege of knowing her. 

May she rest peacefully, reunited with her beloved husband and loved ones who went before her. Her memory will forever remain in the hearts of her family and friends. 

Funeral services are as follows...

A viewing will be held on Thursday, October 29, 2026 from 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM at Goff Mortuary, 8090 S. State Street, Midvale, Utah. Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday, October 30, 2026 at 11:00 AM at St. Therese Catholic Church, 624 Lennox Street, Midvale, Utah. Interment to follow services at Midvale City Cemetery 471 6th Avenue, Midvale, Utah.
