Welcome to our Web site.
Goff Mortuary was started in 1915 in downtown Midvale, Utah. Like many mortuary businesses around the turn of the century, a second business was operated in conjunction with the mortuary. Furniture manufacturing and repair helped carry the mortuary business until it was able to flourish on its own. The original founder and owner was Clifford I. Goff who managed the firm until his son, Louis E. Goff joined him. Louis eventually purchased the mortuary from his father and with the help of friends, family and part-time employees enjoyed growth and success.
In the mid-1950's, Louis hired Gates P. Christensen as a licensed funeral director and embalmer and then later sold a portion of the business to Gates. After several successful years, Goff Mortuary was incorporated and in the early 1960's, a new mortuary was built at 8090 So. State Street, Midvale.
After the death of Louis E. Goff in 1971, Gates P. Christensen and Del Ballard purchased the mortuary stock from the Goff family. Eventually Gates retired and Del Ballard along with a team of licensed funeral directors and embalmers accepted the responsibility of continuing the Goff Mortuary traditions.
Goff Mortuary has enjoyed long-time community support and trust. Our goal is to return to the families Goff Mortuary serves, the quality of personal service, high professional standards of embalming preparation, and comfortable facilities that families deserve. Dedicated employees provide 24-hour service, professional skills, facilities and equipment to all who request assistance. |
